Picked up a great new truck today, take a look! Great Deal
I got myself a 72 c10 today, what i believed was a great deal, judge for yourself. Owner was an old hay farmer who had had the truck for over 25 years, he had the transmission and engine rebuilt about 5 years ago professionally. What i love about this old girl is her originality, essentially nothing has been changed from stock. its an AC cab, automatic tranny, power steering. New radiator, ac compressor, shocks brakes, and alternator. lots of surface rust, has that "patina" look, but i couldn't find a spot where it went through the metal, and the undercarriage looks great as well. I'm trying to decide whether to paint over or to leave it rusty, it definitely adds some...character...
I'm planning on using some engine degreaser, and giving her an overall cleaning. been sitting for a while, will definitely need to get rid of some cobwebs. anyways, all this for 1000$ let me know what you all think Ben |

Beat me by a half an hour to it! I mentioned on the other thread I posted, you should try using some CLR on the rust. You would be amazed what it can do.
I'd love to see more pictures when you get a chance. Good luck with it.

A ready to work 3/4 ton for a grand is a good deal. That's going to be a fun one to fix up.

Wouldn't it be a C20 (8 lug wheels)? Either way, $1,000 for a running truck is a really good deal. Congratulations.

Wait for more patina, then seal it. Nice score.

Re: Picked up a great new truck today, take a look! Great Deal
Nice pick Found one for 800.00 back in 2005 wish mine would of had AC.
One of the first things you should do it take some carpet and roll your self under the truck to see if any cancer is in the floor boards. One other thing On my 1972 it had one good thing i like about mine it had removable rear brake drums.Meaning you don't have to take the axle apart to get the drum off if you have that option that is one less headache. Is it a leaf spring rear end or a coil spring mine is a work in progress spent over 9000.00 by rebuilding mine mine is a deluxe C20 but a light 3/4 ton truck no cancer in the floor its coming to be a nice truck it was all blue but i like the blue and white |
