Need advise on th350/np205 removal
Pulling the combo out of my 1969 blazer and reinstalling a rebuilt transmission and resealed transfer case. Just wondering how you guys get a jack underneath the pair and balance for a safe lift. pictures would be great and I am working off the floor.

what are you lifting at? do you run anything between the trans pan and the transfer case to lift at?

When I did mine I had access to a shop. We put the truck on the hoist, bolted the transmission/adapter/transfer case together on the floor, then used a cherry picker to set the heavy combination on a transmission jack. All that was then maneuvered into place.
I only went one way with the th350/np205. It replaced a 3-speed/np205. We did remove the crossmember under the adapter before pulling the old. The new fit on the same crossmember bolted to the same spot. To answer your question, doesn't a floor jack fit under the combo while at ride height? My K10 on stock sized wheels has plenty of clearance to roll around under there and slide a jack under. You would have to figure out from there how to get the combo out from under the truck. Perhaps raise the truck after you get it on a jack and roll it out? Pull the bed first, lower the combo, raise the rear and roll it back and out where the bed was? I'd hate to try this on the ground. It's a heavy bunch of iron.

floor jack does fit, I'm just not sure on what to lift since the transmission pan is not center of balance.

Make life a lot easier on yourself and first remove the NP205, then the adapter, and finally the TH350. This way you just have to slide the cross member back a little to drop the TH350. I just did this a month ago. Trying to deal with the whole mess at once is a lot more work and stress.

^^This^^ last time I had my t-case out I used my M/C lift and some wood blocks to balance it and it worked real nice no help needed

ok I'm missing something here, what adapter are you guys talking about? Last time I had one out I unbolted the transfer case from the tail of the transmission

The adapter is bolted to the cross member. You don't have to remove it from the t-case if you don't feel like it. I too like to separate the two for removal.
On a side note. I'm from Manchester. Nice to see someone local.
