Blower motor relay mod?

Has anyone done one yet for our squares? Here's a write-up on the 1st gen dodge trucks, I'd like to do something similar to this with my trucks but it would make my life a whole lot easier if someone else did a how-to on it lol. I'm sure I could eventually figure it out but I'd really like to keep the head scratching to a minimum.

Re: Blower motor relay mod?

Mine blows a lot better after I replaced the failing blower motor and repaired some vacuum leaks. This does seem like an interesting project however! I wonder how much of a difference that would make on our trucks.

Re: Blower motor relay mod?

Yeah I've done all that too and the 90s motor (seems like the same motor to me) but it still doesn't blow hard enough. I want to swap to the metal fan also. Those guys say it feels like it blows two to three times harder afterwards.

Re: Blower motor relay mod?

Does your truck have A/C or is it heat-only?

If it has A/C, there should already be a factory relay for the high blower speed.

Re: Blower motor relay mod?

Yes it has A/C and there is a relay on the side of the evaporator box. Maybe just up-ing the gauge of wire to and from the relay would do the same thing. I need to read that article again.
