relocated shock mounts???
ok im painting my frame and i was looking at the shock mounts, im going to get ece relocaters, do i need the ones i have now?? or should i cut them off before i paint?? this if for the rear of a 1972 shortbox, thanks

Yes. They bolt on in the stock location.

To clarify, you will need to remove the riveted on stock upper mounts to replace with the ECE ones. So go ahead and remove the rivets.

When I read your answer I thought it was not clear whether the shocks or shock relocators bolted in the stock location. Kevin

Yep, cutting off the originals won't quite be enough to get the new ones in place, unless one means "cutting off" the head of the rivets to remove the old mount.
As long as this is being discussed, what sort od success/hassles have been encountered removed the stock mount with the bed in place? |

Do you need to replace the upper and lower mounts for the shock relocation? I thought you could just replace the lower ones.

All of my Early Classic 4/6 drop, with shock relocators, shocks, super panhard bar, came in today. I can post pics of anything anybody wants to see. It's all laying in the floor.
