Not sure if this is factory?
Looks like someone got a little crazy with the trailer sheet metal fix. pulled out the seats and carpet of my blazer. found this on the driver floor.

Re: Not sure if this is factory?
we used to have a small trap door like that so if we got chased by the cops the reeffer would go out at hi speed and we'd avoid problems

Re: Not sure if this is factory?
Pretty sure that's a piece of 20 gauge metal stud and they flattened it. Pretty thin stuff...

Re: Not sure if this is factory?
It worked, right? Stamped to factory spec panels were not always available.

Re: Not sure if this is factory?
Was thinking the same thing. I remember when I was a kid a friend of the family pulled up to the house in Kentucky, told me to look under the truck to see his new brakes - I looked under and he put both feet onto the ground. He was wearing new shoes.

Re: Not sure if this is factory?
The answer is in your question. It depends on how handy you are with sheet metal and a welder. A factory stamped patch panel will have the proper reinforcing indentations and will look a lot better and is not expensive.

Re: Not sure if this is factory?
When I was a kid in Northern Ontario, my Uncle had a 65 C20 that was so badly rusted, the entire floor was gone. It was strange to watch the road flying by at highway speeds, and when you went to get out, you'd get up and be standing on the pavement.
Of course, this was long before the DMV made you fix rusty vehicles.
