68 gmc
I have a 68 GMC p/u C2500 I bought the truck while I was in Korea and was told it had a 350 when I finally got back and picked it up I found out it really had a 305... I apologize to anyone who like this engine but I don't feel this engine is made for this truck. So my question is I bought a 454 does anyone know if I have to do any mods or can I just drop in and go with what it has and slowly start buying new stuff for it? Such as transmission, radiator and so on...

First off, welcome to the board. The main thing is to get a pair of big block frame stands. The small block stands will bolt up but you will have problems with exhaust manifold or header clearance. You didn't say what trans you have now or what you would like to use but the TH400 works well with a BB. The fan shroud is different for a big block also. I'm sure others will chime in with more suggestions too. LockDoc

Re: 68 gmc
mine has a 305 at the moment too, it's kind of a dog. i don't think many will be offended by that... lol!
the factory big block trucks had a different radiator, radiator clamps, fan shroud, engine stands/mounts, high hump transmission cover, and front coil springs. not sure about the trans but you'll want something that can handle your horsepower obviously. oh and we all love seeing truck pics!
