Salvage Yard find 84 Chevy Seat & other parts. SELLING SEAT
Found a 84 Chevy Diesel at a local salvage yard. The seat looks very dirty, but I'm going to use the steam carpet extractor on it. I'm pretty sure it will come clean. Couldn't believe it was just sitting there in the truck. Other than being filthy, it looks to be in very good condition. Most of them you see, the fabric is all torn up. I don't need the seat myself, but I couldn't see just leaving it there.

Re: Salvage Yard find 84 Chevy Seat & other parts
The door panels are rough looking, in my opinion. They are faded pretty bad. But I suppose if someone wants them, I can see what they want to sell them for. They will need painted and new felt, but that can be done. I did that to my own panels.
I wanted the headliner (fabric in falling off but it can be recovered. And all the trim for the headliner, but they wanted $80 for all that, I think that's a bit steep. The dash pad was a bust, it is all cracked. |

From what I've seen, $80 for the headliner and all the trim pieces isn't a bad price. I see just the trim pieces for around $100 and original headliners for about $100.

Re: Salvage Yard find 84 Chevy Seat & other parts
UPDATE: After using the steam carpet extractor.
$200 very good condition. The drivers side does have a few thin spots in the fabric and a burn hole. Would make a great seat for a daily driver. I can post close ups of the thin spots. Now if your looking for a seat to recover for a rebuild, this is the seat. Foam is still nice and firm and is not worn at all. Seat tracks are in good working order. All of these spots are on the drivers side.
