Can i use the 73-87 c10 or Blazer lowered front hangers to gain some additional drop? or are the Suburban front hangers completely different? Thank you Koz Last edited by Koz1; 12-04-2015 at 04:16 PM. |

Re: Quick Question on rear hanger.
Sorry about that. Yes, the hanger will give additional drop. I had to do some digging and read around a little. I figured if I shopped for Burb drop hangers you could compare the part numbers against the trucks but I couldn't find any listed for Burbs. I'm guessing that's why you're asking. What I found said the Burb frame was different but the hanger was the same as the trucks.

Re: Quick Question on rear hanger.
Another difference is the front hanger for the rear from a 4wd.. The 4wd hanger hangs lower than the 2wd.. You will have to drill new holes but there are a couple that line right up..

Re: Quick Question on rear hanger.
Yeah a few guys here have done that with a flip to have a nice static drop and not have to cut the floor.

Re: Quick Question on rear hanger.
Found this out when I had to swap frames.. I found a 4wd frame to replace my 2wd because it wasn't straight.. We went to go to put the 4 links back on and realized that the 4wd ones hung down below the 2wd ones.. Replaced witht he ones from my old 2wd frame..

Re: Quick Question on rear hanger.
I know this is old post. But I need assistance.
You guys are saying use stock 4wd suburban shackles to lower a 2wd suburban? Help me understand this. The longer the shackles the lower the truck will be? Also I can do a flip? Without cutting the floor? I'd really like to see a step by step of this? I'm gonna use 3" drop spindles in front. Maybe talk myself into cutting one coil off the spring? Thanks. |

Also, two more things. I haven't done any of this, just read about it here enough that I think I've got a decent handle on it. Also I need to point out that I can't recall reading about this working on a Suburban. I know a handful of guys have used the flip + longer 4x4 hangers on K5's but offhand I can't think of a Burb where I saw this done. But whatever you can think of, someone here has likely tried it. Search is your best friend. |

Re: Quick Question on rear hanger.
Longer shackles lower the truck. It helps to visualize the assembly and what each does to the location of the leaf spring.

Longer hangers are needed for space when flipping the axle Does anyone have any specs on the shackles? I'm sure there's a stock one from some vehicle that will do the job. Anyone have any pictures of suburban flipped axle? What's sold in the kit you can't fab? |
