Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

I like the 2.5 inch lift with the 33 inch tires ... its a personal thing though. There is a 4x4 area of the board with lots of pics if you do a little hunting around.

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

Are you doing body lift or block lift or what? I always take those things[lift kits] out of any truck that I buy that may have them in it. I take off the bigger tires and put factory stuff back it is just easier to sell [in my mind anyway]I know your not planning to sell that is just one of my little things. I think it also wrecks the ride quality witch on a truck that year model isn't an issue anyway I don't think.

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

Just an FYI 33s will fit at stock height. Several examples on here that come to mind. Petes(deadheadnm) truck has 33s if I remember correctly. I plan to run 2.5 and 33 12.5s on my K/20 however.

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

Yep, what Tyler said, 33s should fit stock. I ran 33s on my K10 with a 2.5" all spring lift not for tire clearance, but for LS-swap clearance issues.

Stock height will definitely ride smoother than a spring-based lift kit - but if you're going to lift it, I was pretty happy with the Tuff Country 2.5". No blocks, just springs and new shocks. I used the lighter-duty shocks and it rode decently for a 43-year-old 4x4 (but not as smooth as original).

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

I had 33's on a 72 3/4 ton two wheel drive and they fit, wouldn't have wanted to take it off road lol.

The reason I like the 2.5 inch lift is the truck gets a little bit of an "attitude" but its still pretty easy to hop up into the box.

33s fit on stock suspension but look right with 2" lift. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...kit-no-arm.jpg

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

Skyjacker soft ride, get the all springs kit. The amount you choose is just a matter of preference, because like others have said, fitting the 33's under there isn't an issue.

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

I don't know how well this would apply to a short box 4 x 4 but several years ago I put lift springs under my 72 long box 1\2 ton I used 2 1\2" springs in front and 4" springs in back and that combination makes the truck sit level. With the same height springs the truck will have a raked stance. Just my preference but I prefer the truck to sit level. As for ride it's going to ride like a leaf spring equiped truck anyway.

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

Here is my old K10 from a million (or so) years ago. 2.5 inch skyjackers, 33x12.5 15's and my old green K20 2.5 inch lift, 33.12.5 16's. I think a short box would look good like these

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

My 72 K10 with 33s and 4" spring lift:

Had Alcan Springs in Grand Junction Colo. build them for me. They can make any kind of spring package you may want...whether it be for towing, ride quality or off-roading. The center pin can also be moved according to your liking. Had mine built for the best ride. Installed them with Bilstein shocks. It rides very nice for a lifted leaf spring truck.

Oh and BTW it looks fantastic.

Re: 69 short box 4x4 lift kit ?

I would recommend a 2.5" lift, will look good, that is what I put on mine,I have a longbed...I used a kit from superlift, blocks in rear, springs in front and superlift shocks, it rides real nice! I have heard that tuff country ez-ride lift kits ride real nice also..

Shenandoah! I lived in Flagstaff a while. When I came back east it was late summer. Driving through KY it was rainy and so lush. I actually enjoyed driving all day in the rain

Perfect. That's what I was thinking we needed, and a short bed too
All these trucks look level to me, except mine with 1.5" blocks in the rear.
