66 stepside

Hello everyone. I'm new to this board. Just got a 66 stepside short bed with a straight 6. Planning on sbc conversion and bagging it. I took a look underneath and there was a 1 piece driveshaft and jasper T350 tranny. So I have a couple questions. Will the motor mounts work? The straight 6 has an hei distributor, will it work in the sbc? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Re: 66 stepside

Welcome, Nice looking truck.
If the I6 is a 292 you'll have to change the passengers side motor mount.

The distributor will have to be changed. I6=6 cylinders, V8=8 cylinders.

Motor mounts and distributors are fairly easy to come by so no worries there.
Any pics under the hood or interior?
Have fun.
