Has anyone heard of any longhorn beds for sale.
Here is the situation. I've come across a 67 C30 camper..no bed (open road camper)and it is a dually. I am wondering if a longhorn box will work on this rig..(not sure about the rear wheels). I will be investigating it further. It has 48,000 miles on it and its reasonable..under $800. Appreciate your input.

You need a wheel base of 133''.

I'm near Portland OR. After further search... This truck may take the 9' stepside bed. Not sure if that is the same length as the 69 or is it 70 longhorn bed. (The longbeds were apparently out before they called them longhorns.) see..

Anyway...It is for sale and I need to look at it tommorrow. You know how the good chevy deals go quick. It is a dually that may be an issue. At least it could make a decent flatbed?!?!

Can you pass along the # of the wrecking yard that might have had the longhorn..just in case I go for it>>>

By the way I'm also looking for a tilt auto column for a 1984 c30.

the longhorn bed and the 9' stepside will both fit a one ton with 133" wb. the 9' stepside is not, however, a longhorn, it was simply an option (for one ton trucks only). the only year they did not make longhorns was 67, and I am fairly sure they made 9' stepsides for all years (67-72).

3/4 and one ton longhorns were made from 68 - 72, the 9 foot step side was only on one tons from 97 - 72, and neither was an option, they all had there own model number.
If the one ton camper you are looking at is a 133 inch wheelbase, then you can do it with some mods for the extra wheels. (the cab will have a huge hole in the back too though) The problem is, most of the camper trucks were 157 inch wheel base.

I was looking at truck parts today. Saw a 69/70 longhorn that someone burnt a few weeks ago. Sad sight. It was not to rusty for Pa.

The nine foot box was only offered as a Stepside. The Fleetside cargo box was available only on half- and 3/4-ton pickups.

Unfortunately the vehicle had been sitting too long. Serious chassis rust. Nice interior though. He'd probably take $400.00

Yeah, longhorn info seems to be wrong on many sites, and in some books too.
Funny thing is, GM has the info right, just a few phone calls and talking to the right people (which i did not do myself, some ppl I used to know had some 'connections') will get you very acurate facts.
MArch 11th of 68 was the very first longhorn built.
