Chevelle reproduction battery cables.....opinions please
Since I have been unable to find correct reproduction cables for my 72 K10 I believe these will work. I will know for sure by next weekend.

Re: Chevelle reproduction battery cables.....opinions please
I would think you could get those for waaayyyy cheaper. Even for a full on concourse restoration. Anything labeled "Chevelle" or "Corvette" is going to garner a higher price tag. Just for the name.

I believe board member Roger Koop sells the correct reproduction battery cables for our trucks. Might want to contact him.

That price could be a little high for what you are looking for.

Re: Chevelle reproduction battery cables.....opinions please
Side terminal? Can you hear me all the way in future?
I actually didn't know they went side terminal that early, but there is scattered mention even in my '70 docs that make it seem upcoming. Horrible, horrible technology that never should have seen the light of day. At least the battery threads should have been hardened tool steel, not 1/8" of soft lead threads... I went the parts store route because they were close, but if a board member sells them, can someone ping Roger Koop? I don't have a username for him, and I actually need top-mount versions, so don't want to hijack.

Re: Chevelle reproduction battery cables.....opinions please
Side terminal started in 1971. Here's Roger's listing for the side terminal cables.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ight=RogerKoop I wasn't able to find correct cables for the top post batteries. I have pictures of what I used (Deka) which are similar as well as my original top post cables for comparison if anyone is interested. EDIT: Here's a previous thread with the pictures. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=6827364 Last edited by FirstOwner69; 01-09-2016 at 02:28 PM. |

Re: Chevelle reproduction battery cables.....opinions please
Remember, in 1970 the future WAS in 1971. But it was news to me they started as early as 71, I thought it was more around the HEI timeframe.
Anyhow, thanks for the Deka tip, I have a different brand that looks very similar (and probably comes out of the same factory in China).

Re: Chevelle reproduction battery cables.....opinions please
I'd call them and order exactly what you want .
length, gauge and which specific end terminals for your application. They custom build them not just pull them off the shelve or out of the shipping box to resell . Great way to get heavy cable long enough to be able to route them hidden for you custom project or they also offer restoration cables . |

Re: Chevelle reproduction battery cables.....opinions please
I needed as close to correct as possible with the correct shielding etc. And these were the best I could come up with. My K10 is 99 % original low mileage truck and although I have the originals for comparison it was time for replacement.
