thinking of going with rally wheels- truck style or vette style?
Thinking of going with rally wheels. Would be customs, 15x8 front and 15x8 rear. I really like the look of the truck rallys but also like the look of the 68-72 vette style with the derby caps. Wheel vintique makes them with the correct truck lug patter. Which ones are you guys running?

Looks good, and I like the body color but don't think my 85 can put off the police caps. If I do the vette style I will use the 69-72 derby caps. Very nice truck though

I had to mash the front grease caps just a little bit to get those police caps mounted and everything clears
Good eye for noticing what they are |

I'm running the vette rallys, think they look better than the truck rallys, 15x8 on the front and 15x10 rear 245/60 and 295/50's, also running the derby cap with the narrow trim rings

Same tire size I was planning on. I'm hoping to be able to use the deep 8"rings on the 10" wheels.

If 15inches is good 18inches has to be better right? Corvette rallys of any size look great on these trucks.

Nice truck but I'm only going with 15's. Call me old school but it's what I prefer.

My stock truck rallys with some beauty rings I got from speedway. Took quite a bit of time to clean these up!

Re: thinking of going with rally wheels- truck style or vette style?
I really really wanted the truck style rally's, but after the 10's being back-ordered for 6 months, then no longer available, I ordered the Vette rally's. Once my Vette rally's arrived, the truck ones were once again available.

Re: thinking of going with rally wheels- truck style or vette style?
Not the best view of the OE 73-87 15x8" wheels and caps, but you get the idea. I bought the wheels, trim rings, and center caps for around $150. Tires are Cooper Cobra 255-70x15. I traded the wider trim rings for a narrow set from 7" wheels, which I like better.

Truck style homie. 15x6 upfront, 15x8 in the back, no trim ring.

Re: thinking of going with rally wheels- truck style or vette style?
We've been running these for a couple of years now. I think they look great! They are Wheel Vintiques 15x8 up front and 15x10 in the rear. Rears are still perfect, fronts are turning kind of rusty brown and discolored. Probably gonna get all 4 powder coated next summer. GTT

I ran these Vision Corevtte rally wheels with turbine caps on my 78 Jimmy. They were pretty cheap if I remember correctly.

Re: thinking of going with rally wheels- truck style or vette style?
I'd like to jump in on this thread if I may. I too am putting rally wheels on my 70 c10. I'd love to keep the stock ones but they don't clear the disks. My question is, has anyone bought the ones from Speedway Motors? I was oringaly looking at wheel vintique but the ones from Speedway are cheaper and I hear great things about their customer service.
Thanks, A.W. |
