Exhaust Pipes

So I have been thinking of a way to re-do my rusty old exhaust pipes and LMC puts out a kit for a complete system.

Has anyone used this product? If so, are the pipes made to use the stock Diverter Valve for Exhaust Gas to heat up the motor?

I called them and the guys answering the phone had no clue, and they have no technical specs or drawings. Any info is appreciated. Seems like a decent deal for a complete system on a stock motor.

I bought the "stock" mufflers with exits behind the rear wheels. They are not nearly as quiet as stock mufflers were. As I recall you can install them with or wirhout the factory heat riser. I did it without since I have a Holley and GM Performance Parts intake. The system is high quality, but I elected to use band clamps from Summit Racing instead of the included run of the mill clamps.

EDIT: My truck is a 69 3/4 ton with an Eaton axle. The kit is not designed for that application. I wasn't aware of that when I ordered. I worked with Mike at Heartthrob and sent him a pattern. They custom bent rear pipe for me at no cost. The stock mufflers are designed to be installed on edge, not flat. That's the way my originals from the factory were oriented also. You may also need to install a new style mini starter for clearance on the right side.

Andy that is the thought, yet I am still way far out until I get a 6.0 setup into my rig.

I kinda have to fix what I have for now. One can only do and dream!

Shops are just as cheap sometimes as a kit. I personally like the shops install when everything is a welded connection.

I stopped at a local muffler shop and asked about having duals ran all the way out back from the headers to the bumper, he asked which mufflers, i was gonna go with flow masters, he said he had nothing but rust problems with them, told me to buy two stainless steel mufflers and he'd do it all for $275.00! Works for me!

1+ on finding a local shop to have them installed welded instead of generic bolt on system .i have a local guy who lets me stand right next to him and builds it exactly as I want cheaper than any kit .

Having a shop fix it will more than likely be cheaper in the end. The kit may fit without any problems but if it doesn't then there you are going to a local shop anyway. Go local, be glad you did!
I had full duals 2.5" from headers back to rear of truck with S/S mufflers. $250.00 out the door.

I had fun doing my own... Ha. I bought the mufflers I wanted, some 2.5 inch pipe and bends and went after it. I have a lift, a welder and a cutter so that helps. You can get creative and run them very nice and tucked up so they cant be seen. It took some time to do it right but that is how I have done most of my stuff.

Local shop installed custom bent next to the truck , welded with no hokey clamps all over the place . Clean ,done and have a coke while watching it go together .

I did Stainless Works 3" on mine. Love it. Did a little bit of fab work because I have Blazer tank .

I would definitely ask some of your local car and truck guys who they use. There was a guy here that seemed like he did everyone's ... at least everyone knew who he was. Very reasonable prices, and such a nice tight fit. No ugly pipes hanging down. He's since retired though.
