Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
not sure how much to cut off your coils to get your 2" drop but you can get 2" drop springs from Summit for $125.00 a pair.

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
If the pictures are with the 3" drop spindles something is wrong. Get some pictures of the from suspension up so we can check it out.

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
I agree. With 3" spindles it should sit a heck of a lot lower in the front.

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
Couple of things that may be contributing to the stance. First are the front springs sitting in the pocket correctly? This would be first place I would look as it happens a good bit. Second is there are still a lot of parts to put on that truck that will ad weight to the front of the truck. If you are sure the springs are in right I would not cut coil till the truck is assembled. And are you sure they are 3"? Going by what I can see from the pics, the lower a arms don't look real low on the wheel.

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
Yes the 3" drop spindles are installed...I don't know the donor vehicle for the front end..it was installed when I bought the truck...I compared the spindles to the ones I removed and they are 3" different. I will post some front end pictures..

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
Front of truck looks stock height to me, and is it me or the photo, passenger side looks higher. also you said Spindles were 3" different? .... 2 1/2" drop Spindle should be close to center up and down between ball joints. Not criticizing, just trying to help.

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
My Truck is a 66' with 86' cross member swap 5.3 / 4l60e with 2.5" drop spindles and 2" front lowering springs. The rear has 4" lowering springs.

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
Went out and took a look at the spring pockets...looks like the coils are not seated correctly in the pockets. I installed the drop spindles with the engine out as I replaced all the control arm related bushings at same time..and I had a hard time getting the coils to seat without the weight of the engine on the front end..(i would jack up lower control arm and whole front end would lift) Hopefully that will get me lower in the front end. Any tricks to getting them seated in the pockets?

Re: 62 c10 ride height question.
As long as you get them centered around the spigot as you go up they will stay there. If you are pulling them out cut a 1/2 wrap off the bottom of the spring. Spring is smaller around at the top. Round off the sharp edges after you cut them. Then adjust the ride height lower if you want after the truck is done.
