Dougs Headers

Has anyone used Dougs headers on their 73-87 SBC equipped truck?

How was the fitment? Is the transmission cross member an issue?

Speaking of the D310 or D310R

Re: Dougs Headers

Fits great, tuck up nicely. Needs a double hump cross member.

Will they work with OEM cross member? Or do the collectors run too close to make a bend to clear.

Re: Dougs Headers

I used Heddman 69830 on my 85 K20. Perfect fit and finish.

Re: Dougs Headers

I can't speak about fit of those you mentioned, but a Dougs header is probably the nicest quality, heaviest built header I've ever seen. I would recommend them to anyone.....

Re: Dougs Headers

Ok, then they will be good. Except the crossmember.

Where do you find a double hump cross member?

Re: Dougs Headers

I started with a pre catalytic converter 3/4 ton, then notched the center for the mount.
I had the flatten out top pieces and drill 2 new holes

Hope this helps
