700r4 Shift Linkage

Anyone had luck with any aftermarket shift linkages for a 700r4 in a 1970 K10? Dad wants to keep the column shifter in his Suburban.

With the stock linkage? It looks like the shackle hanger is going to be in the way to move the pin on the frame forward. I guess I should have mentioned that we opted to move the motor forward 2 inches instead of moving the t-case back and modifying the driveshafts.

Re: 700r4 Shift Linkage

I used a car style shift lever hooked directly to the shifter rod coming from the column for my 4l60e.

Excellent, thank you. I'll look for a car lever and hope it works. I want this thing out of my garage.

Re: 700r4 Shift Linkage

I used one from Lokar on a BB with a 700r4 and it is in the forward mounting holes. (Hopefully it will work with a Th400)

We ordered one from Summit, should be here in a few days. Thank you all for the recommendations.
