1983 K3500 Fuel system help

I am getting ready to drop my engine back in my truck (454) post rebuild, and due to using a hydraulic roller cam from a gen 6 with no provision for a mechanical fuel pump, I am left to figure out what to do to feed the carb with an electric pump. I have run a low PSI (3-5) pump before on a carb with success, so was hoping to do that again to avoid a lot of replumbing or tank swapping. probably would be mounting it under hood, or on frame where the stock filter sits. any suggestions? any diagrams also appreciated as the fuel system in place is completely bone stock.

Re: 1983 K3500 Fuel system help

Do you have a return line on the current setup? Assume dual tanks. I never had success running a pump after the selector valve but I was running higher pressure for fuel injection on my '77. In tank pumps would work great with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator at the carb but that's a lot of work...

Re: 1983 K3500 Fuel system help

yes it is dual tanks, and I believe there is an existing return line there. I do think the pressure makes a lot of difference when running a pump after the selector valve, because the pressures required for an aftermarket fuel injection set up (25psi and up) usually exceed that which the selector valve can handle. So I am hoping to be able to go this route.
