frame moving behind steering box
When I turn the wheels left while standing still, I can have someone pull down on the steering wheel while I was checking the pitman arm and I noticed that the frame that the steering box is mounted twists a tad. It is very slight but I guess I'm wondering is that is normal or do I have a problem. The truck is a 72 C-10. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bill

Re: frame moving behind steering box
I have seen this. The light weight forward crossmember is riveted to the frame. The rivets work loose and the frame can move. There are threads on here about installing bolts to replace the rivets. Watch the rivets while someone moves the steering wheel back and forth.

Re: frame moving behind steering box
You may want to check for a binding ball joint or something to the like that is causing a binding in the front that would cause that too.
