Newbie mistake..... 73+ bed on my 69. More effort to swap fenders?

trying to figure out for someone who doesn't do bodywork or modifications if it's worth trying to swap the rear bed fenders on to this bed or try and find a solid stepside bed that is the correct body style.

Although you can drill holes to mount the fenders and the box is dimensionally the same the steps will not mount up to the 73+ box without adding metal to the area in front of the fenders. There is a thread somewhere here about it.

Damn it.....newbie mistake. I knew it looked odd with the shape of the wheel wells . Time to find a new bed. This one's in very nice shape . Hope someone's interested in a 73+ bed.

I'm sure if it's a nice bed you could sell it to someone with a 73-87 for decent money toward the right bed

Yea it's actually in pretty damn good shape. Bed floor is pretty good too. It's just missing the side steps.

What do they usually go for? I can't post a wanted or a for sale add here ....

Does anyone have pictures or a thread on what it takes for this swap to be done? I want to see what is needed before making my decision. I haven't been able to find a thread with description or pictures.
