99 passenger door adjustment help

Hey guys, I have a 99 Silverado and it's a 3 door. I posted about the weatherstripping about a month ago, turned out not to be the problem. The passenger side door latches, but on bumps in the road it wiggles and rattles, and on the freeway air leaks in making a terrible noise.

I checked both the top and bottom latches and they do work, but I can't figure out how to make the doors latch tighter or closer to the cab so the don't wiggle and make noise.

Not too many solid ideas....but will lay my thoughts down? You say Cali truck, so I would rule out the rust issues , that we see in Illinois (no rocker rust damage)? No issues on a prior salvage title? if the truck has high mileage, you could be dealing with loose hinge pins on the doors? My 02 /4 door extended, was an Alabama truck.....the outer rockers , & 1/2 of the inners are gone, but she still seals tight(a little rattle on the doors,but no wind seal issue). 165,000 miles on my "beast"? Well on the cab there are those u shaped metal peices that the latches latch to, I adjusted those all the way in towards the truck so it would latch as tight as possible. It got better, but the really wasn't much adjustment left.

Now this may not make sense but sometimes going all the way in with a latch can be too far. I've had loose doors that when you would move the latch or striker all the way in it would lack what seemed like a half a notch on the latch being all the way closed. Well most all latches have two positions and if you go all the way it will close like one and a half notches so that means coming out just a tad then the second notch can catch. Clear as mud, right.
One thing I have done on the back doors is place a breaker bar or long pry bar on the striker and pry [or hammer] it up. That sometimes can tighten a back[ third] door. Good luck. Jim
