Chevy to gmc

Hi all, new here tried to find answer in other threads had no luck. Bought a 67 Chevy C30 tow truck will be removing tow body for flatbed, was looking for a GMC but this one came up in good shape and good price want to make it a 4 headlight. I do need a new radiator support but the fenders are good. Will a 67 GMC radiator support bolt to 67 Chevy fenders? I know I will have to get new bezels buckets etc. Thanks for any help.

Re: Chevy to gmc

On Rock Auto both the Chevy and GMC carry the same Goodmark part number for the front fenders.

Re: Chevy to gmc

They are the same fenders between the two in 67.

Re: Chevy to gmc

OK thanks for the input. One more question if anyone feels like responding. Are disc brakes really worth the conversion? Will not be pulling or hauling anything , was planning on just redoing all drums, lines, components etc. Truck will just be a cruiser or something to take to a show.

Re: Chevy to gmc

There are a number of threads here that tell of the interchange between the years of Chevy and GMC.

Too bad you are on the other side of the country I would swap GMC stuff for Chevy. Looking forward to pics.

Yes, disc brakes are well worth it IMO. Remember, it's a stopping competition. You need to do it as well or better than the guy in front of you. In 1967 the guy in front of you likely had drum brakes. I am sure you understand that the 2016 vehicles can stop much better than they did in 1967.

Re: Chevy to gmc

I would highly recommend going to hydroboost brakes on that c30. I have a 1967 C30 and I put hydroboost front discs from a 1975 C30 on mine. The 67 drum brakes weren't even in the same ballfield as the 75 brakes.
The 1967 GMC grill is a one year only grill, only in that it has GMC imprinted on the front of it. Any 1967-1972 GMC grill is interchangeable minus a top bar filler piece which can be removed/added, some paint on the 71/72 grill, and the GMC on the 1967 grill. Structurally they are the same grill.
