59 front fender emblems: paint masking?
Hey guys, previous owner had my 59 front fender 31 emblems rechromed. Now I need to paint the background black on one end, and red background on the other end.
Any of you guys done this? Taping off each letter is taking forever and not sticking to the chrome very well. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Can you paint them by hand using a pinstripe brush?
Might want to post in Paint section also |

That is what I have seen too, using Hot Shot paint and a brush to just float in the paint.

Quote:
probably some residue on there, wax and degrease well think about it, the paint will stick as well as the tape you'll need to scuff where you want paint to stick then hand brush in there

old trick, use water base paint, when almost dry wipe it down with wet sponge to clean mistakes then clear gloss it.
