1 wire alternator ?
on a one wire alternator you only have a wire that connects to the threaded stud and goes straight to the battery and the plug isn't used at all, right? i got my first supposed to be one wire alternator but it still has the place for the plug on it? do i wire it to my volt gauge and then to the battery?

One wire alternators are Self exciting. They dont require the other plug even though they have the place to plug them in sometimes.

Most one wire alternators can also be used as three wire. At least my Powermaster was this way.

Hey! I resemble that remark. I'm teaching a class on paint removal techniques for 52 buicks this saturday at dads house. it's free and I'm even supplying the materials(razor blades), you'll get lots of hands on traing, so i'll expect you to attend and bring your little dummies with you so they can share in the joy of the working on old cars.
