Rubber Boot (Do I need it)
Im ordering some parts to get my brakes up to snuff. One thing I need is the rubber boot that goes tween the master cylinder and booster. I have that all lined up and know what I need (pic 1), but when I was searching I kept seeing pictures of another rubber boot (pic 2). I don't know where it would go, or if I even need it. Perhaps it goes on trucks with manual brakes.
If I need it, I would like to order it now so I can do it all at once. Thanks |

Re: Rubber Boot (Do I need it)
There is no boot between the MC and the booster. If you do that the master will not seat on the rubber seal that has the booster push rod in the center. The boots you are looking at are firewall boots. Actually the first pic is the firewall boot for a boosted MC

Re: Rubber Boot (Do I need it)
1st boot goes on the back side of booster pointing towards the firewall sealing the back of the booster, you are correct the 2nd boot is non-power assist manual brakes firewall to master cylinder boot. The other boot you need is the power assist brake boot for firewall, purpose to seal opening for brake rod that exists truck that connects to the power booster.
