Will these caps fit on my c20?
Hi all, i love the dogdish caps from 67/68 and was wondering if they would fit onto my 72 c20, even though the rear axle sticks out a bit far. anyone know? il post pictures of my truck, and then the caps i want. will the axle stick out too far in back, thats the question.

Those look like 88-98 steel wheels. If that's the case, no dog dish hubcaps will fit on them.

You need 3/4-ton hubcaps. They the larger 12" diameter. This is the style that is correct for your truck,...

I have a used "driver quality" set of these if you can't find any locally.
Check Craigslist.

Re: Will these caps fit on my c20?
The backside of the hubcaps have to be 12" in diameter to fit over the nubs on the rims.

Re: Will these caps fit on my c20?
Unless the later hubs stick out more, you could use the 67-68 3/4 ton hubcaps to get the look you're looking for.

Re: Will these caps fit on my c20?
this is the 68 two piece fire stone rim with clips, the rims are two piece and nobody will touch them but the hub caps only fit them needless to say the rims are scarce and so are the hub caps. 69 and latter use a hubcap eqully nice but much more common.

Re: Will these caps fit on my c20?
There are only two types of GM outer nub hubcaps that you can use on an 8-lug, the 69-75 and the 76-91. On half ton trucks there are zillions of options between all the GM makes. Other makes, too, but few without the "wrong brand" showing on them

Re: Will these caps fit on my c20?
What about the 1960-66 c20 caps? those are good looking, is there any chance those would fit over the nub?

Re: Will these caps fit on my c20?
Personally I would run '72 hubs on a '72, they came painted white as well as chrome. However, if you just have to have the '67-'68 style, or '48 thru '66 for that matter, yes they will fit your rear axle, but, you need period 8 lug rims with clips and hubcaps with the 8 3/4" back side openings. 8 lug clip wheels came in 16" ( 2 piece style) and 16.5", 17.5" and 19.5" ( all one piece style). Here is member Lane '68 3/4 ton with period one piece 16.5" wheels with clips and chrome '68 3/4 ton caps. This "look" is not easy or cheap to attain, but the results speak for themselves.
