Re: how to remove an old post?
Basically you can't. What are you wanting to do?

Re: how to remove an old post?
Probably need to ask and admin to do it, I know they can kill them when they get out of hand. I know I have asked them to a couple of times when I did not think the topic thru.

Re: how to remove an old post?
you can delete a post if nobody has posted after it
go to edit and look around if it's something that needs deleting ask any forum staff, like 63&64 bowties above

Re: how to remove an old post?
Unless you just don't want the thread bright back up for personal reasons there isn't much reason to delete it.
On the same note I wish threads (on any forum that had sat dormant for X amount of time could only be opened back up by the original poster after that time period. I don't see it here as much but on another board I quite often see threads that have liked quiet and forgotten brought out of hibernation by someone who found them on a google search who throws in an off the wall comment on something that was a topic as much as seven years previous.

Re: how to remove an old post?
I had to search to see if maybe I could figure out what you needed. I deleted your hot chocolate if that's what you were asking about.
I thought maybe you needed a whole thread deleted, which we usually don't do unless as OrrieG mentioned, they just get completely out of hand. Next time just ask one of the staff.

Re: how to remove an old post?
The threads can be locked then unlocked by request but there's nothing built in that I know of to tie permissions for a thread to the original poster.
One way to handle it on a low traffic forum is for a mod or admin to break out the new posts into their own thread. There's a lot of traffic on this site so I don't think it would work here. |
