They call me Mucus
Hey y'all! I've been lurking around for awhile, stockpiling info and drooling over pics, so I decided to step it up to member status! This is my first post and I just wanted to thank everyone for all the amazing information, pictures and links that can be found here. Some absolutely incredible trucks and a great community!
I'm building a 1958 Chevy Stepside, short wheel base, with a big back window and I am looking forward to starting my build thread soon! She's got a camaro clip, a tci 4 link and gonna be powered by a zz4 backed up by a 700r4. She'll be all modern underneath but rollin in 58 style! I'm looking forward to all the criticism, good and bad, so I can build my truck up right. Talk to y'all soon!

Re: They call me Mucus
And here is the frame I started with. Its a 56 chassis, clipped with a 79 camaro and left with leaf springs... clip job was done sometime in the 90's. I'm pretty fortunate to have been able to start with this setup. Thanks to all involved!!! Its a solid clip, but I would have chose a little different geometry if I had done it myself. All good though! She'll ride great and sit just fine when I am finished with her!

Re: They call me Mucus
I started my build in late August last year. Here is my frame all done up with the TCI 4link, McCaughey's drop spindles, Hotchkis lowering springs and some good ol' bilsteins. I have a ton of build pics and am looking forward to putting together a complete build thread, however I am in no way close to being on the road...all in due time!

Re: They call me Mucus
This is how she sits right now... I've got the engine, tranny and driveline in; the brake system is done; fuel tank is in and almost plumbed; I've trimmed the inner fender wells for control arm clearance, and I am working on lots of other stuff. Currently I'm patching the million holes in her firewall! And the cab is just sitting on the frame because, you know, I gotta see what she looks like!!
