Seat Covers
I have a 72 Suburban Custom Deluxe Equip with Parchment Trim
I am looking for replacement seat covers but the ones I have found are not what is in the truck. They have the scroll work on them and have a cloth insert. Does anyone know where to find them?

Re: Seat Covers
I had to build my seat covers using fabric and vinyl from SMS Fabrics.
It wasn't cheap to do 3 benches, but they are wonderful to look at

Re: Seat Covers
I know that SMS will do embossed vinyl. Good luck and bring your big check book.

Re: Seat Covers
i asked truckseats to do some for me as I also need parchment and he referred me to SMS.
The only issue with the samples SMS sent was the vinyl was more of a off white/light gray color and the cloth was also darker than the original third seat that I have which is still in OK shape. I guess the original could bleach out over the years but other pics Ive seen of original seats look like a bright white vinyl to me. They also did not say they had the ribbed vinyl that is correct for the rear of the bench when I asked via email. |

Re: Seat Covers
Parchment is an odd color. My 69 GTO has it and if you look at the car from a couple of feet away it looks white. If your 10 feet away it's bright white which I think is more pronounced as the car is burgundy. But if I lay a piece of paper on the seat it looks grayish. Maybe if you can get a sample from somewhere under the seat and clean it up they could match it up. If they don't want to do that I live in Portland and I could make the trip and compare your sample to get a close match. I am not certain but I believe that SMS gets most of there inventory from buying out old inventory and close outs. The backing material may hard to get as it may be a suburban only item. I don't know it it was on the back of the pickup seats.

Re: Seat Covers
SMS was able to duplicate the faux stitching on my side panel vinyl, so I bet they would do it for the rear of the seat since it's enough yardage to be worth doing. I just sent detailed pictures and measurements, and they sent an exact duplicate of what I had.
