My pieced together truck.

I finally found an 8 ft stepside bed for my 69 c10 I've been piecing together. I had the frame and engine laying around for years. A bubby gave me the cab from a truck he was scraping. The doors came as extras when I bought my k20 from Colorado. The front clip is all extras I had. Biggest expense was the painless wiring harness. Does anyone know if someone reproduces the stepside fender with the spare tire cut out?

Re: My pieced together truck.

I have been looking myself. Those things OEM for long beds are Holy Grail rare.

Re: My pieced together truck.

I don't think anyone reproduces spare tire cut out fenders at all but give this man a call.

Eric at 406 325 2427. He will ship and ship in a proper wooden crate.

Such a fender could be made, there was a build thread on here showing a guy doing just that.

I wish my truck was a lwb like yours. I love stepsides.

Re: My pieced together truck.

If you get yours replaced, I might be in the market to buy it. It can't be any worse than the ones I am using at the moment and looks like it's probably better.

Are the long bed step fenders different from the short bed?

Re: My pieced together truck.

Swb and lwb are the same. Gotta have the spare tire cut out though . It's the icing on the cake.

No. The cut out is different, and the mounting bracket is different. The short bed needs more room because of the fender's distance to the cab.

Edit: My answer should be Yes. I was saying no they aren't different, when I was meaning no they aren't the same.

Re: My pieced together truck.

Here's a good thread that discusses spare tire fenders. Even has factory diagrams included.

Re: My pieced together truck.

Within thew last 2 weeks a guy just purchased a long step truck, he was talking about cutting the bed down but a bunch of us advised against it as to the rarity of the bed, he may have decided to find a different bed, i'd be learning how to use the search feature and maybe you can find the thread and maybe he's got something you need for sale? who knows..
