Re: Need help Question about sway bar

Trucks that weren't equipped with a swaybar from the factory didn't have the frame brackets. But, all trucks had holes in the control arms for one regardless.

Yes, since your truck is lowered I would recommend you get the shorter brackets that are made for lowered trucks.

Re: Need help Question about sway bar

Here are the shorter brackets he's talking about under my 74. The truck is lowered 5 inches in the front. My truck also came with no sway bar originally like yours.

Re: Need help Question about sway bar

To my knowledge, there are only two manufacturers of the shorter brackets, CPP and Early Classic Enterprises.

I have used both. The ECE ones are a slight bit better value as they include mounting hardware and the CPP ones require you to supply it. Virtually the same cost for the two different brands. The ones in the picture above are CPP brand which I bought from Summit as I could get free shipping on my order and it wound up saving me about ten bucks in the end since I didn't have to place a seperate order for the ECE ones. The bolts, nuts, and washers I had on hand in my bolt bin so the lack of hardware with the CPP parts were a non issue compared to saving shipping charges on the ECE ones.

I have looked all over for lowering frame brackets on line and can not find them for a 1977.

Re: Need help Question about sway bar

The same brackets fit from 63-87. For some reason the vendors haven't picked up on that.

This is the bracket in the picture I posted above.

I'll snag some better pics for you tomorrow. They should clear up any questions. That pic I posted sucks.

Re: Need help Question about sway bar

I used the CPP sway bar when I installed their lower arms. I do have an extra set of lowered sway bar brackets that I bought earlier. The bar came with a set too. Extras are yours if you want them, just pick up the shipping and add your own bolts.
