Aftermarket body panels, any good?
My 72 is in need of a front bed panel, tailgate, and passenger fender. Obviously I can get these in the aftermarket (I've been looking at the company AMD uses), but wonder about quality. Is there a body panel you'd be satisfied getting aftermarket, or should I continue to look for used? The front bed panel seems harmless enough, but is also common used. Thanks.

Re: Aftermarket body panels, any good?
I recently used an aftermarket bed panel. Only a couple holes needed help but you can see those before assembly. the tailgates, well don't get the smooth ones they are thinner than the stamped ones. Fenders, well lots of guys use them it is always better to use factory stuff if you can but that is not always possible

Re: Aftermarket body panels, any good?
I did a complete fleetside shortbed on my 72 and it all bolted together beautifully. The repop fenders were okay, but the stampings around where the outer grill covers needed a little work.
