running into snags on DB conversion...

What im doing is switching to 71-72 spindles on a 70 c10. Ive changed upper and lower ball jonts to match and bought outer tie rod ends. This is where things are getting difficult. Seems the outters have bigger threads so it looks like I will need inners and the collar that connects them. Will the new inner tie rod ends fit into the bar that connects the two sides together? If not will the center bar off 71-72 fit in a 70? Thanks for any words of wisdom.

Classic performance makes an adapter type tie rod sleeve. It's a solid type sleeve with jam nuts. The 72 outer tie rod end screws in one end and the your old 70 outer screws into the other. Your old outer tie rod end becomes your new inner. This way you can use your old drag link assembly. This setup works really well. It's what I used on my 70. BTW they also make adapter brake hoses that will go to your old brake lines.
