Worth saving?...

Check this out. I've been "eye-spy"'ing this '71 ambulance that's been sitting in a vacant lot near Enumclaw, WA (1 hour SE of Seattle) for over a year. Missing transmission (350 or 400 auto). Still has the original 350, and even has the collapsable stretcher and the divider between the back and the driver laying on its side inside the bed.

Owner seems to be MIA...

...has dual spotlights, AC, and original radio. CB is gone, and so is the dash (bad pic).

How do you save it with no owner to deal with?

No kidding...I guess you start knocking on doors, or get the plate number and see if you can get any info from that...

There's a ton of vehicles in this lot. Someone has their name on them. I'm sure if you spent enough time poking around the "owner" would show up to see what you're up to...

The stories that baby could tell. It would be cool to restore back to original. You could probably sell it to the movie industry or ebay it for profit.

You can go get a form from the DOL that will allow you to request ownership info from the state based on the license number. I had to do that last year. Tell them that you think that it is an abandoned vehicle.

Next time I'm down there to work on my truck I'll poke around some more. The phone number is on the side of an old abandoned dump truck in the same lot along with about 12 other vehicles. I doubt that would proove to be useful.

The lot used to contain a butcher shop years ago, until it burned down in the late '70s. The buildings in the background were part of that business, but someone bought it and it was a radiator shop for about 10 years, until it closed around the early 90's, and hasn't seen any action since.

I got a feeling whoever owns this lot is using it as a storage place for all of his acquired vehicles. They're just rotting though...

...there's even an old English taxi sitting out there.

Wow! I always wanted one of those or a hearse in High School 31 years ago! Buy it and paint Ghost Busters on the side and hire it out for parties!
