Drum Brake Booster under frame set up

Has anyone here done a booster to their original drum brake setup? I'd like to retain the 16" wheels and new tires and not do the 5 log change. Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Don't let 16 inch wheels keep you from doing a disc set up because you can run a disc set up in six lug behind those 16 inch wheels most likely. With any factory mount brake booster you were still going to have to modify or run new lines most likely it will be easier to run new lines. stock tf and ad 16 wheels will not clear a lot of calipers. I had a 59 steel wheel that fit the back drum fine, rubbed on the front caliper (74 front 4wd axle). 16" steel wheels from 72 on will work, but not with stock TF hub caps. I used 68-72 dog dish caps, look old enough that most will not know they are not 59. You will need to replace the stock MC, I would find one with separate front and back reseviours. You will need a proportioning valve too. I'd replace the lines and hoses too, since they are 55+ years old.

I had everything ordered this AM from Speedway then found out it was only 5 lug. I canceled the brake parts but still ordered the power steering kit.

If anyone knows of a 6 lug disc brake that will work with my 16 inch rims please advise. I want to go disc up front and drum in rear but not at sacrificing the 16 inch original wheels.

In my opinion, good adjusted power drum brakes will work as well as discs in single panic situations and daily driving. I have them in my 64 Chevelle can stop just fine. Disc advantages are ease of repair/replacement and better cooling in constant braking situations.

on my drum brake system, I used a disk brake booster & m/c under the floor. added a 10# check valve to the front line & every thing works good

To answer the original question, I have a Hydrovac here that I plan to install in my truck. Hydrovac was available as a factory option for TF trucks.

Had a hard time figuring out what you wanted as in your first post you asked for a power master setup for drum brakes and later said you want disks that work with the stock wheel
