Re: Vin on frame

Mine was on top of the frame near the steering box.

Re: Vin on frame
I'm pretty sure the earlier production (67-68) gmcs were hit and miss. I know there are plenty of examples on here of those same early trucks not having spids either.

Re: Vin on frame
if its a bare frame you should be able to find the #'s on top of the driverside frame rail between the cab mounts.
or the one on top of the driverside frame rail between the steering box and motor mount. my 67 and a bare 71 frame i have have #'s in both these locations.

Re: Vin on frame
The only ones I have seen over the years that did not have a vin on the frame were 67/68 GMC's

Re: Vin on frame
My 71 GMC has two; one by steering box, one roughly centered between cab mounts (drivers side).

Re: Vin on frame
My 1972 GMC C15 has the VIN number on the top of the frame near the power steering box. The 1969 Chevy C10 frame I have has it in the exact same place.

Re: Vin on frame
I have a 1968 GMC short bed fenderside. I found numbers stamped upside down on the drivers side frame rail that do not even begin to translate into anything close to the VIN on the drivers side.
3914401-311 9-18-114 Does anyone have any info on the frame numbers? |

That last post should have read:
