Passenger outside door button

I did a search similar to the title and found multiple pages of how to fix or replace a handle that had a "collapsed" button but I don't have quite the same issue. My issue is that the button is very hard to press, my wife can hardly use the handle and my daughter has no chance. If there is a way to "fix' the amount of pressure required to press the thumb button I would appreciate any help. If there is already a thread and I missed it, I would appreciate links.

Thanks - D

Re: Passenger outside door button

Sounds more like a latch problem instead of the door handle button. have you tried lubing the latch?

Re: Passenger outside door button

X2 what Redline said.
Once the door is open is the button still hard to push? Normal causes are usually the button itself, or the latch mechanism binding. Installing new door seals can also cause this problem.
Has this been an ongoing problem or did it just start? Here is a pic of what the handle and latch look like. Hope it helps.

Re: Passenger outside door button

thanks for the replies, I did spray lube it today and it helped a bit. When I get more time to take the door apart I will check all the components. No new door seals, door has been the same since I owned it which is only about 2 months.
