Outside Door handle help
I have a set of NOS outer Door handles I went to install the other day and I found the rod that activates the door latch is longer on the Rh one than the Lh one by quite a bit. Too long to slide in far enough to the door to secure. I thought I had a defective unit and I started to look online at pictures of other NOS handles and found a few in the same condition.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm a little confused.

Yes I have seen this.
I cut the rod the same length as the one it was replacing. Worked fine.

If I remember correctly the Suburban and Panel truck barn door handles have a longer plunger than the normal front door handles.... Being it is the RH that is what the barn doors use. LockDoc
