Removing Blazer Rear Hatch Lifts
I'm going to replacing the jam-prone sliding lifts on my 72 Blazer with gas-pressured lifts from Strong Arm per http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=220511
My difficulty so far, is in removing the 2 Phillips screws which secure the lift brackets on either side. After 44 years, they are not inclined to move. I've sprayed them with penetrating oil - no luck. I've tried an impact screw driver. I'm guessing heat is out, since we're working with fiberglass. Any ideas? |

Drill re-tap, I had to do all of mine. Go stainless while you are at it

Re: Removing Blazer Rear Hatch Lifts
Thanks for the reply. I had that as my last option, since it turns a 10 minute project into a 2 hour project, but that may be the only option.
Fortunately my build is just about complete, with the exception of the lifts and then hatch latch installation. |

Here is a post of struts going on....( I took my OEM sliders off, slide them apart and cleaned with steel wool, reassembled and lubed, they work like new )... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=641414&page=2
