I know many of you have done this, and how did you plumb your fuel filler.. Now I have read and read how Tennman did his, ( very nicely I will add ) But what about the rest of you?

And post pictures if you have them.

I remember seeing some one hide it behind the side marker light. Thats what I would do. Very Clean.

I went to a Marine Supply Store and bought a filler and mounted it at the bottom of the wheel tub. Works pretty slick.

Behind the side marker is Tennman's idea. And yes it is very nice, But I don't want to go that route right now. I have had my tank in for over a year now and not made a filler. (but it hasn't been on the road.) Now it's ready to drive, and i need to do something. I have a 68 Dodge charger filler door that I'm trying to figure a clean way to install to use, but i need to do something in the interum.

One of the boards, Maybe Wes's has the complete step by step install for Danny's ( tennmans's) It uses basically S-10 components.

Yep, One of the rear cross supports have to be relieved, (cut) for clearence, And, the filler tube comes right up to the front of it, and, It has to be cut, to clear the top of the tank, so the bed won't sit on it when installed. and I had to cut a little more at the front of the crossmember where the filler tube hit it also.

I also thought about the filler tube behind a flip down license plate bracket, But, On my stepside the license plate bracket is lower then the filler tube itself, and gravity wouldn't work in it's favor.

On my blazer there is a metal boxed surround that covers the filler on the inside of the bedside and I think you could build something similiar out of sheet metal and instead of running the neck out the bedside cut a hole in the sheet metal and fill from inside the bed. I hope that makes sense... it would be fast and easy...

i used copper to because it fit right into the poly tank, so there was no backing up. then i welded on adaptors to the pipe so i could fit 1.5 inch filler tubing to connect my marine filler. i mounted it on the inside of my bed so there are no more holes on the out side....if u want to see pics just go to my web site.

Ron, like I mentioned on the other board, I'm planning on using a fuel filler door from an 84 step side. I got the idea from the first picture, but I plan on doing it on the driver side step.

I have the stock blazer filler tube assembly and plan to run it inside the step fender up to the rear top of the fender. I plan on installing the filler door about where I marked. It should giver a straight shot down to the tank and since I have the relief hose from the blazer assembly I should have not the backup/burbing problem. I have not finished my measurements and work yet, but I might have to use a smaller door assembly than the 84's to clear the edge of the step bed, but I probaly can find another one.

I want it on top so I can have the design closest to stock, plus I have the stock tail lights being inset into the step fenders.

My setup was lifted from a Mazda 323 at our local U-pull-it. Fit real well with the curve of the fender, had plenty of pipe to play with, the remote door release mounted on the kick panel and I only had to get a 6" piece of 1 1/4" flex hose to connect it to the tank.

Of course, the '67s don't have those pesky side marker lights to worry about.....

Rick, that's a very clean job. But I have those pesky side marker lights...

And I have something in mind for them already..

I will probably go to the marine filler for temporarily until I can make up my mind.... Right now, I have a garden hose running into the tube, and when I need gas, I put the rubber end from my 5 gal. gas can into the hose and tip it up..

Yep, It's about as Mickey Mouse, as you can get, but, it's not on the road yet as I typed before, getting close though. I just need to get off my dead butt, and put it on the trailer and down to the front end alignment shop. So as you can tell, anything is better then what I have now..

But, I would like to hear more ideas. As I'm sure others would also.
