72 k10

72 K10 with a SM465 tranny, and 3.08 diffs. Am going with a LS 5.3 and wondering what my Highway speeds / rpms will be with the SM465 and 3.08 diffs. Any one run this kind of set up in either 2wd or 4x4 mode? was really not wanting to change out steering column and pedals to go with a 4l60 or auto trans unless I really have to.

Re: 72 k10

Some folks have done NV4500 swaps to keep their pedals and get a good highway o/d. I'd restore that pup, NICE truck. What's the condition of the current motor?

Nice truck! Is It just me or is there something up with the wheel base? Looks like the rear wheels sit pretty far forward in the well.

Should be the same as it is now. You'll be changing the engine, nothing with the gearing.

Re: 72 k10

Nice looking ride there

I assume you are aware of the more challenging factor involved with an LSx in a 67-72 4x4?

It was my original plan until I found out how much more involved it would be so I'm going FITECH

Or you could get an MSD box, harness and intake and run a carb.

Or even run the fitech on top of this.
