fuel gauge not working
mine is a 70 with a factory fuel gauge. I have verified power to the sending unit. The guage just reads empty. Not sure where to go from there. Any suggestions would help. thanks!

Unplug the sending unit wire from the fuse panel and read the gauge don't forget to turn on the key. You should get a reading of way over full. If you get that, then plug the sending unit wire back in.
Then unplug it at the sending unit on the fuel tank. You should get the same reading on the gauge. If it still reads empty then the sending unit wire is grounded to the cab. Usually under the drivers sill plate. If you get the overfull reading then the sending unit is bad. DO NOT PUT ANY VOLTAGE ON THE SENDING UNIT WIRE!!!!!!!!!!!
