1982 Door Adjustment
Hi Guys,
Well, attempted to install the drivers door on my project 82 last night. Im using a good door off of a different truck. I installed the bolts insuring they were in the same location as originals (could tell by paint around washers). My new door is way out. Seems to be too close to back of cab , and "sagging" at rear bottom. I'm thinking I have to loosen/ adjust hinge mounts on cab to correct. (have also installed new pins/bushings) The top hinge as a bolt that comes from the inside. Can I loosen the nut on hinge, or is it spot welded? |

You can loosen the bolt from the inside. It's in a tough spot on the driver side. Don't pull your socket off Haha. There's a hole you can put a socket thru. I always leave that one loose until everything is adjusted tightened and in the final place you want then tighten it up.

Hmmm.... thanks GMC Guy..... I was afraid of that. Oh well, if someone put the bolt in, I should be able to loosen it.....

Ya. I have donated a couple 9/16 into the a-pillar on a couple trucks. Catches the lip and pops off your extension. Haha.
