1986 motor in my 72

i have a low miles motor i want to install in my 72, first i`ll be swappin the intake for a carbed intake, as for the gaskets do i install them just like i would if i was using a tbi? my concern is the coolant block off plates, i usually just skip installing them.. my blazer has a granny 4 sp. will have any issues with using my old flywheel? thanks
