Brake help
Hi guys..new to the site and having trouble finding the info im looking for..i have a 70 c10 which i converted to 72 front end..replaced everything on it but the booster since i had power drums to start. I dont have great stopping power. New mc..brake lines..calipers..rotors and all suspension. Power bledbrake lines..no air in them..i changed proportion valve as well. Is it possible i need a new booster as well? Any help is much appreciated

Your existing booster should be sufficient. Did you use all stock parts from the 72, ie: the master, the valving, the calipers, and everything? Or is it a mix and match of stock and aftermarket?
It's easy to mismatch the MC bore size and the caliper bore size if they're not meant for one another.

I purchased all new parts for a 72 mc..calipers..brake lines..rotors..and the proportion valve was used from a 72..so im at a loss as of now

I do have a 72, disc/drum, and had very hard brakes also. Replaced m/c, booster, front pads, bled the whole system, all didn't make much difference. Recently redid the rear drums, shoes, springs, and wheel cylinders, and that made a world of difference. It was pretty frozen up so maybe take off the rear drums and see how easily they move? There are plenty more folks on here who know way more than I do, but the rears were the culprit with mine.
