Scratched up my truck this morning.
I started a new job back in June which requires a thirty five mile drive each way.I had sold my daily driver which was a Jeep Cherokee when me and my last ex split up so I've been driving my 76 Silverado back and forth to work. It's a Big Block with 3.73 gears and the gas mileage is not that great and my ol Corvette doesn't do much better so I bought a little Mazda 626 for a commuter.Instead of twenty bucks every other day,it's costing twenty bucks bout once a week so that part's good, but ,God I hate that car. I'm 5'9 and 235 so I feel like an elephant on a go-kart goin down the road, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
I've been working eight til eight all week and last nite I got out about seven and my son was already off to a concert down town so I decided to stop for just one on the way home.Well you know how that goes.About closing time I finally realized that if I didn't try to find my way home pretty soon it was sure gonna be a long day at work today. So I headed home, stopped by the burger joint and got a couple of grease burgers and a bowl of gut bomb chile to go,got to the house, stopped at the entrance to my drive and grabbed the mail and the newspaper. When I got back in the car,she didn't move when I put her in gear and I'm thinkin',damn,I don't need this tonite. So I decide to deal with it this morning,so I ate my food and stumbled off to bed.Thank goodness I'm not married anymore at least I don't have to listen to a complaining woman at midnite when I'm in no mood for it. So anyway I'm up at the crack of dawn with a pounding head and breath so bad I thought about gargling with gasolene to see if it would improve the odor.I figured out the trans was stuck in park so it's probably just a cable but I swear I don't see why an engine no bigger than a carry around tool box doesn't have enough room around it to see anything so I gave up on trying to fix it my self plus I got to get to work.Only problem is the car's blocking the drive and no way to get around it with all the trees along the drive.I thought about pushing it out in the road with my Silverado and hopeing that somebody would run over it,but I hated to mess up my new bumper. I finally figure out that I can barely squeeze between this Magnolia tree and a big ol Azalea bush if I'm lucky but there's no room for error plus I can't creep along cause it's up a steep three foot incline before it levels out. Well, here I go,up the drive hang to the left to get a good angle,up the incline, catch my right mirror on the tree, jerk to the left, take out the Azalea bush, through the yard over the curb and off to work.Get to work and survey the damage, not too bad,one pretty good scratch but most of it will buff out I think, don't matter that much anyway.Ol truck looks like it was painted with a live chicken, buffed with a pine cone and polished with a brick,so I doubt if a few scratches will make that much difference. So anyway.I guess I'll make it through this day too.I'm startin' to feel a lot better.I don't see how people stand it that don't drink. Can you imagine waking up in the morning knowing that was as good as you were gonna feel all day. Good Luck Tom

That's a good one.
I had some custom pin striping on my truck, and still do on my windshield from a damn barbed wire fence.
