Question about engine

Ok just purchased a 70 chevy 4x4 suburban and it's a factory 6 cyl,Did they still make a 250 or is this a 292 hmmm I don't have the engine #'s yet but i figured someone on here could tell me quick.I was told the 250 has 1 cover plate on the vavles and the 292 had 2 cove plates.Thanks for any help

That's a big negative on the 1 cover plate Ghostrider.

250 has fuel pump in front of right side motor mount.

292 has fuel pump behind right motor mount

The side covers: 250 are about 4 inches tall. 292 are about 6 inches tall. Both sizes have 2 covers though.

Thanks alot I appreciate the info.The fuel pump is in front of the motor mount so looks like it's a 250.
