Rejected at Car Show Marina Car Show Long Beach

Mt truck was rejected from the Long Beach Marina Car Show yesterday because of no paint? A car show run by non car people! Not sure if it was just the opinion of the guy at the entrance or the their overall policy!
PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CAR SHOW>

Thanks,

Sweatback

If you want to see a bunch of clean cars with glossy paint jobs, go to a new car dealer!

Awesome truck I can tell allot of hours went into that thing (got allot of hours in mine and does not look nearly as awesome!) and it really is quite unforgivable that they would do something like that. It doesnt matter if it is a classic porche, a classic truck with no paint, or a mint MG. A classic car is a classic car, allot of work (and money) has gone into it, and for them to just...throw that away like it does not matter because the "art style" does not agree is just terrible.

Now, if it was a specific "theme" or club, I can see it, but a general car show, no bloody way!

Well, obviously these people don't pay attention to hot Rod Magazine and what was VERY popular on the Hot Rod Power Tour this year.

LOTS of "Rat Rods" with Patina (some with REAL patina and a lot with manufactured patina.)

Somebody was not paying attention........

I walk by plenty of rides that are not my thing. I just wouldn't reject those rides because I simply didn't like them, or the didn't meet my own personal criteria. I appreciate
all people that love trucks and cars.

Re: Rejected at Car Show Marina Car Show Long Beach

People talk about new paint jobs . My personal opinion is new paint jobs are nice but they're a headache . My truck has new paint . Have to worry about stratches in garage , people leaning against it at shows etc . I'd spend my money on engine , undercarriage etcetera before paint . Beauty is more than skin deep.

Re: Rejected at Car Show Marina Car Show Long Beach

Your truck is beautiful, without question.

However, I don't think it's a matter of not supporting them just because they wouldn't let your truck in.

A 55 Chevy hardtop could never be crowned Most Beautiful Roadster, or an American car awarded Best Import, or A Studebaker allowed into a Corvette Car Club.

The point is, there's rules to organize these events so they cater to specifics. Goodguys car shows allow just about anything. Concours De Elegance is invitation only for the most part.

Different stokes, but it's certainly no reason to post something saying not to support an event because the outcome wasn't what you wanted.

Re: Rejected at Car Show Marina Car Show Long Beach

No need to be pissed. There's all sorts of car shows out there that are exclusive.

GM Truck Nationals.

Ford truck Nationals.

Mopar Nationals.

Corvette Nationals.

Mustang Nationals.

All GM nationals.

Some shows are 72 and older only. We even have one that specifically says 1970 and older, no Mustangs, Camaros, or "muscle cars." It's meant to be for 30's to 50's hot rods.

I've seen rad rod only...

My point is, who cares? You're not the one that put the show on. Apparently that was one of their rules.

Love the truck though, their loss.

Yea, I went off topic in my rant, corrected!

If they did not have any particular rules posted, they should of allowed you in. It is not like it looks like you just dug it out of some farmers field that day and was puking fluids/smoking everyone out (I am assuming)

Truck looks sweet! I thought "Patina" was well understood and accepted today. What wheels are those?

Eh, not really. I own a 65 Mustang and you're "shunned" in the Mustang world if your car is anything but Shiney, so yeah, still not "universally accepted."
