How have you guys done this? I want to have the keyless entry with the poppers and an alarm. What I am unsure about is can I just use the pulse from the alarm's keyless entry function, or is it too short to pull the latch assembly open? An alarm is a must, and the doors are already shaved so there is no turning back. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

that is what i did on my s-10 but you need more than a poper. I used a poper but i would have to pull my door open. If i did not open it i would have to hit the button again. so i instaled a springh that pushed my door open at the same time as it poped and held it oped for me. but yes it can be done

Oh i know I need the pushes, they come ion the A-1 Electric kit I am looking at. I was just wondering about the alarm pulse length. So you did use the pulse from the alarms keyless entry to trigger the popper? your reply is a little vague. Thank you.

how hard is that all to do becides the shaving part, do the kits come with detailed instructions, or it it pretty simple?

I have a "code Alarm" and it has extra buttons for whatever use you want to use it for. I have electric locks, and as long as I push the button, it holds the actuator triggered.

I'm also going to shave my doors, and I am going to use the extra function to operate the doors with.

I forgot what model alarm I bought, But it turns on the dome light,unlocks the doors, It locks the doors when the key is turned to "on", and unlocks them automatically when the key is turned to "OFF",of course blinks the lights arming and disarming, it has the two stage alarm feature,( if you tap the vehicle it does a Quick Beep, and if you hit the vehicle it goes off armed,passive,and instant alarm, And some other stuff I can't think of right off the top of my head.
The main thing is it does work with door actuators.

I've done this on a couple of my trucks - Just need to make sure whatever brand alarm you get has aux channels or outputs. Most alarms have power locks and such but the aux channels/outputs are what let you do the cool stuff like remote door soleniods, remote power windows, etc.

Ok Smooth68, the alarm I have has two extra channels with built in relays, so I'm good there. My main question now is whether or not I need to have power locks, or locks of any kind for that matter on the truck. Since the doors will be alarm actuated and can only be opened with the remote, are locks necessary?

I would say...NO! Just from past experience here. It really all depends on whether your gonna have handles and such on the interior of the truck. You can put power locks in and make them work, but with out handles on the outside they're really not needed and can be a pain if used.

Just figured I'd reconfirm it for you, you don't power locks or locks at all, I don't. I also removed the rods and everything that has to do with the locking mechanism and I only had to use a door lock actuator instead of one of those expensice ones. It's worked great for a couple years with no problems
