99 alternator on a 71 c10

Hi all, I finally got my vortec engine running. I'm in the process of fine tuning it. I installed a 5.7 vortec engine out of a 99 suburban, but made it into carburetor for simplyfing reasons. But now I'm stuck on how to wire the alternator, it's got one big wire that goes to some tipe of fuse and then to the battery and a plug with only one wire. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated.
